  • What are the tax registration requirements in Pakistan?

    In Pakistan, all businesses including companies, partnership firms (AOP), and individuals earning taxable income are required to register with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for income tax purposes. Likewise, enterprises making taxable supplies and services must also register for Sales Tax with FBR and the respective revenue authorities in each province where they conduct business activities. The registration process involves compliance with relevant requirements as specified by these bodies.   • What are the tax filing requirements in Pakistan?

    In Pakistan, both companies and individuals who earn taxable income are required by law to register with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for income tax purposes. Those involved in business and making taxable supplies and services also need to register for sales tax with FBR and respective provincial revenue authorities. Once registered, companies are required to submit monthly withholding tax statements under the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, as well as monthly sales tax statements and returns with the FBR and the respective provincial revenue entities. Additionally, there are certain other quarterly and annual tax-related returns and statements that need to be filed by companies. Regular e-payments of taxes are also to be made with strict adherence to the timeline specified in the regulations.
